Wizz Air operates a Ljubljana-Brussels service during the winter
LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), Aug 29 (SeeNews) - Low cost airline Wizz Air has announced that it will keep connecting flights between Ljubljana and Brussels Brussels throughout the year, canceling the earlier decision to take a break in the winter months following the recent collapse of the flag carrier Adria Airways.
"The Charleroi flight schedule for Ljubljana-Brussels has been adjusted to meet the growing demand for this route and will be available year-round from December," Wizz Air said in an email to SeeNews on Tuesday.
In August, Wizz Air announced that Ljubljana-Brussels scheduled services will stop in the winter of 2019 and return for the IATA summer 2020 season in mid-March and April.
Since then, things have changed as Adria Airways suspended its flights in the last week of September due to a lack of funds for its day-to-day operations and began bankruptcy proceedings in early October.
Following the closure of Adria Airways, Brussels Airlines announced that it will launch six weekly flights between the Belgian capital and Ljubljana from 4 November, while German Lufthansa and its Swiss subsidiary have announced that they will introduce Ljubljana connecting flights to Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich. in their winter schedules.
