Olímpico do Montijo: Beto taking the test in Lille
Beto, forward of Olímpico do Montijo, traveled to France to take tests at Lille, our newspaper knows. The 21-year-old was being followed by the French club for several months, who asked him to come to the training center to see his performance up close. Ol. Montijo, holder of Beto's pass, acceded to Lille's request and, therefore, the striker will be working this week with Christophe Galtier's squad. Beto will also train alongside Rui Fonte and his brother, José Fonte, as well as Xeka and Rafael Leão.
Beto fulfills his first season at Ol. Montijo, having passed through U. Tires, Oeiras and Benfica. The striker is being one of the main figures in the Portuguese Championship - if not the figure - and has attracted the attention of the French scouting. It should be remembered that the Portuguese Luís Campos is the sports director of Lille and it was he who gave the endorsement of Beto's trip to France for a short period of experience. Only afterwards will a possible hiring be decided, always at the end of the season.
Ol. At this point, Montijo is the second best scorer in the Portuguese Championship, with 20 goals - just behind Gonçalo Gregório, who scored 25 for Casa Pia before heading to Paços de Ferreira. In addition to Lille, the striker was also observed by clubs in the 1st League, which, by the way, have already expressed interest. One thing is certain: next year, Beto will have a new club.
With Guinean and Portuguese nationality, the young promise of the Portuguese Championship can be an option as a striker and in the wings, despite his high stature (1.94 m). The versatility in attack is one of Beto's characteristics, but the finishing ability is obviously the one that stands out the most.
